Earlier this week I decided to run the El Dorado Fun Run 5k to try for one of my challenge goals: Run a 5k in under 30 minutes.  I was a little bit nervous because I have been focusing on longer slower runs to get ready for my half-marathon; rather than the speed workouts I thought I would need to do well in a 5k.  Guess I didn’t have too much to worry about.

On the way to the race I made a three tiered set of goals: 3.  Set a new PR (personal record) by running the 5k in under 33:33 (my previous 5k time); 2.  Beat the members of my beginning running class that would also be at the race; 1.  Run the 5k in under 30 minutes.  Done, done, and done!

Now time for my post-race celebration.  A Nice Juicy Hamburger! mmmmmm. . .  hamburger. . . .
